Innovatier’s Reaction Injection Embedding® materials pass NCITS 322 flexure test Its patent pending method makes the grade. Lakeland, Fla. Nov. 27, 2006 – Innovatier, the visionary in the world of powered cards and tags packaging, proved the durability of its overlays and Reaction Injection Embedding® processes in the flexure test. The NCITS 322 test, the standards test for flexibility of over 100,000 flex cycles, was performed by Eclipse Laboratories. Eclipse analyzed the strength and durability of Innovatier’s smart card packaging technique. Innovatier uses multiple layers to complete the packaging scheme. The top and bottom printed overlays encase the inner core that can contain electronics. Its superior methods embed electronic components such as antennas, sensors and batteries into powered cards or tags. This process produces a highly durable elastomeric core utilizing proprietary reaction injected molding, which can be tailored to the cards’ performance for optimum durability and security. Innovatier distributed over 1,500 powered cards during its attendance at Cartes 2006, November 7-9, in Paris. Cartes is the world’s largest show for the smart card and identification industry. The upcoming worldwide leader in packaging solutions was well-received at the international gala. Eclipse Laboratories, headquartered in Bloomington, Minn., specializes in testing cards for ISO compliance as well as all card durability tests established by ANSI/INCITS B10. The company analyzes the magnetic stripe, lamination bond strength, surface irregularities, placement and size of various card attributes, flexure properties, abrasion resistance, chemical exposure and temperature extremes are typical tests for evaluation of cards used in a variety of applications.
